Countersink Holes AL PCB
A countersink hole is a blind hole machined from the surface of an object into its interior, which commonly used for installing bolts or other connecting components.
For most PCBs, some form of hardware installation is required. To accommodate this need, most PCB manufacturing includes non-plated mounting holes. The most common types of these holes are pillar-shaped countersink holes and conical countersink holes. These are specific PCB drilling requirements but are often interchangeable. Both types of holes refer to a method that allows fasteners to be secured flush with the surface of the PCB laminate material. This process typically involves drilling a larger diameter at the top few millimeters of the hole to accommodate the head of a screw for flush mounting.
Today, we are discussing a method for making countersink holes in a circuit board,
characterized by: the method uses a secondary drilling process to create peripheral holes and countersink holes, and the number of drilling iterations for the peripheral holes and countersink holes is 1 per panel
To address the issue of screws protruding from the circuit board surface and causing scratches to other components and occupying space during PCBA assembly after circuit board drilling, the method for creating countersink holes in this invention adjusts the number of drilling iterations, drilling depth, and improves the drilling tools. This resolves the problem where round holes cannot snugly accommodate the screw head, while the countersink effectively provides a snug fit for the screw's countersunk portion, ensuring that the countersink screw fits securely into the countersink and protects the surface of the circuit board
