NPTH Board
The manufacturing process of NPTH is simpler, hence quicker. They are most commonly used (but not always) as tooling/mounting holes to fix the PCB to its operational location.
The processing of holes and outlines on this type of PCB board can be accomplished using the method of punching, and this method is suitable for PCB boards with simple processing requirements and large production quantities, where cost-effectiveness and speed are prioritized.
Punching Holes: For PCB boards with a large production quantity, various types and numerous holes, as well as complex shapes such as single-sided paper-based boards and epoxy glass cloth-based boards with non-metallic holes, it is common to use one or several sets of die-cutting molds.
Outline Processing: For the outlines of single-sided and double-sided boards with a large production quantity, die cutting is typically employed. Depending on the size of the PCB board, this can involve upper and lower feeding molds for NPTH Board.
Combined Processing: When high precision is required between the holes and outlines of NPTH PCB boards, and to shorten the manufacturing cycle while increasing productivity, a composite mold is used to process both the holes and outlines of single-sided boards simultaneously. The key to using molds for PCB board processing lies in the design and fabrication of the molds, requiring specialized technical knowledge. Additionally, the installation and debugging of the molds are crucial, and currently, most PCB factories outsource the production of molds.
