"The process of gold plating printed plugs, specifically for Edge Metallization Boards, is a multi-faceted one, encompassing three primary types: top surface gold plating, three-sided gold plating, and four-sided gold plating. This method provides the best protection against corrosion due to its comprehensive coverage of the print plug's surface area.

In the production process of three-sided gold plating, several components are involved to ensure the quality of the end product. These include the front-end outer layer wiring, solder resist, anti-electroless gold dry film (which covers all wiring except for the printed plug leads), nickel electroplating, secondary wiring, alkaline lead etching, and post-processing. This Edge Metallization production process is considered conventional and relatively mature, having been refined over the years to provide reliable results."
